Let’s face it, moms know a lot. They have tips and tricks for just about anything that concerns their family.
So, who better than a mom to ask where the best family-friendly beaches in the state are?
Of course, locals know the popular state beaches, but there are some lesser known gems that moms stand by.
From small waves to great food concessions, here’s a list of Rhode Island beaches that are great for families chosen by Rhode Island moms.

Barrington Town Beach
- “Lovely beach with little to no waves. Parking is pretty much on top of the sand and the bathrooms are clean and nearby.”
Burrillville
Spring Lake Beach
- “No waves, they have slides and an arcade.”
- “It’s always very clean!”
Bristol
Bristol Town Beach
- “The beach has some rocks/pebbles, but it has awesome playgrounds and play areas, and lots of other stuff to do right around the beach area.”
- “Quiet, never a ton of people, and free easy parking.”
Lincoln
Lincoln Woods
- “It’s free and recently upgraded so it looks great now. It’s not over crowded and no waves.”

- “There are no waves and a lot of people don’t know about it so there’s never more than a handful of people there!”
Warwick
Goddard Park State Beach

Warwick City Park
